march!

this has been a really long week.  actually a really long month. on top of having the worst viral infection(sore throat, cold, cough, aches, throw ups and fevers) i have ever had (and all the boys too), i now have an ear infection.  and if you thought that adults couldn't get ear infections, well they can.  they are horrible.  don't worry i took a lortab a little bit ago (and an extra strength mucinex and augmentin) and i am starting to feel pretty good.  i probably shouldn't be blogging while on such heavy medication. 
but oh well.

more sick

well it happened.

i got sick.

monday night i came down with the 

same thing that the boys have had.

pretty much the worst sore throat/cold ever.

i started to lose my voice tonight.

tyler told me i sounded like a wonder pet.

i hate the wonder pets.

oh well.

good thing he has been taking such good care of me!

warm toes

most people don't know that tylers dad loves to buy socks!

every time he goes to sportsmans he ends up with some socks.

tyler wishes he had the same obsession with guns.

but hey, socks are cheap.

well thank you grandpa o. for buying ryan some socks.

they have kept his toes warm while he has been sick with fevers all week.

a day of playing with boxes.

ryder loves trying to get toys out of the toy box.

sometimes he gets high centered.

but today he fell right in.

he didn't cry at all so i grabbed my camera.

i have just recently discovered diapers.com.

they ship for free and it only takes 2 days to get your order.

sometimes it's just too hard to get to the store with two kids.

and then you have a giant box for your kids to play with.

priceless.

when the rest of the planet is enjoying the 90 degree summer weather we will be a little jealous.

but for now we will enjoy our days in the sunshine.

even though ryder was sick last week we spent some time in the back yard loving the sun!

and ryan thought it was so great that he could see his footprints from the water.

then the fridge dropped more ice from the maker into the basket.

ryan said "we don't need anymore ice"

i said "the fridge is just making more"

ryan said "oh thanks mom"

then he looks at the fridge and says

"thanks fridge but we don't need anymore"

february 14, 2010

ryder has been sick for the first time.

i shouldn't complain since we made it almost 10 months without any sickness except teething. 
(which might as well be a sickness, if you ask me)

he army crawls everywhere.

he pulls up on his hands and knees but hasn't figured out the moving part yet.

he is starting to not like baby food.  he will still eat it but would rather have table food... of course!

he started almost sleeping through the night.

he wakes up at 11 and eats and then he goes right back down.

he doesn't love the bottle and only has about one a day.

at least he won't miss them when they are gone.

he still sucks his middle fingers.

i think he got sick of graham crackers because he usually throws them off his tray now.

he is still mellow.

he sits up from laying all of the time now.

we had a great valentines day.

with ryder being sick we didn't make it our of house.

it was nice to spend a day inside with our dad home.

{i know i need my hair done. it's even worse this week, and i don't get it done until friday }

alli came and visited too

ryan was not cooperating, he didn't want his picture taken at all.

both boys needed new shoes.

luckily cupid brought some!

celebrating love february 13, 2010

we celebrated valentines on saturday and sunday.

we were going to go to texas roadhouse for lunch so we wouldn't have to wait in line forever.

we told ryan we were going to lunch and he said "wendys?"

tyler said "no, somewhere better"

ryan got so excited and yelled "mcdonalds!!"

so that's where we went for our valentines lunch.

at least ryan was loving it, which makes me happy.

ryder was sick...but he was a trooper all day.

after our lovely lunch.

we went to sportsmans warehouse to get ryan a fishing "rod" or a pole as most people say.

then we went fishing.

we didn't end up catching anything but we had a great afternoon together as a family!

and ryan didn't want to go home!

so he sat on the ground and pouted.

we got another valentine package in the mail.

we were so excited.

we love mail!!

we loved all the candy and toys.

ryan loves his new red sox blanket and sleeps with it every night!

sick

i told tyler that i am way behind on blogging.

he said to me "you are about a week behind in everything".

well that's what happens when your kids have been sick for 12 days.

ryder got sick first with an upper respiratory infection.

the doctor said he could have symptoms for 7-10 days.

that was 12 days ago.

he is doing a lot better but he isn't 100 %.

ryder also has goopy eyes.

and now ryan does too.

ryan also has had fevers for three days now.

today was the worst and he even threw up tonight.

luckily he told me he was going to, so we made it to the bathroom.

tyler gave him a blessing tonight because he is pretty miserable.

as soon as tyler was done, ryan said "say the prayer again".

it was so tender.

i am thankful for Priesthood blessing and a worthy husband.

tyler has been sick this week too.

and with a test everyday and waking up 5 in the morning to study,

he moved out of our room and into the guest room.

i bought a fan (tyler said it wouldn't drown out the sound of the kids getting up at night, i told him it would, i was right)

hopefully we can get rid of this sickness!

i am sick of all my boys being sick!

and hopefully more blogging tomorrow.

we were so excited to get a valentines package from grandma h. in the mail.

shower

ryan loves the shower.

he showers with dad now but he stays in there all by himself after ty is done.

he would stay in there all day if we let him.

and he always cries when we take him out.

mistake

if you can believe it, our nursery at church lets the kids play with rice.

i knew that it would make a mess but i thought "hey, he can play with rice while i finish making dinner."

HUGE mistake

he was playing so nice and then all the sudden he starting throwing rice ALL over.

we won't be playing with rice ever again!

i asked ryan "what does grandpa put on his trailer?"

he said "four wheelers"

i said "what else"

i could see his little mind thinking...

when he says fabric it sounds like "faggot".

at first i couldn't understand what he was saying.

but grandpa puts fabric on his trailer.

so i made him some rolls of fabric and a red tie-down strap.

he has been pulling this set up all over the house.

update on the stache

i hate that i already had to lower the crib mattress this week.

it always makes me sad.

and i know that i had to lower it earlier with ryan.

ryder has been totally content with just watching the world go by.

this past week he has figured out how to go from laying to sitting.

he does it ALL the time now.

if i could only get him sleeping through the night.

two nights ago he did.

last night he was up ALL night.

just me and him watching baby einstein.

i am sure that i will miss these days.

but for now i really hope he starts sleeping!

Germany

we said goodbye to tyler's grandparents.

they are headed to germany for 18 months.

we are sure that they will have a fabulous time at the freiburg temple.

utterly delicious!

last weekend we met up with our friends luke and julia for pizza and ice cream. they are always so thoughtful about going to places that are kid friendly. we had peter piper pizza and ryan was in love with the games and rides. every 5 minuets or so he would come running back for more "money".

then we went to utter delights in gilbert.

best ice cream around!!

and they even gave ryan a little pink cow. (his favorite color is pink and he loves mini things)

he was in heaven.

and yes that is my darling husband with a dirty mustache.

he thinks it is "fun"

i am speechless!

an update on crawling...

i keep a little basket of balls in this little cubby and ryder goes straight for it everyday.

he gets inside the cubby as far as he can.

he is starting to pull up on his hands and knees.

it won't be long before he stops the army crawl!

a curl?

ryder has always had really straight hair. it's getting a little longer now and it has a little curl...

which i think is the most adorable thing ever!

t ball

we finished two weeks or soccer. last saturday we started t ball.

ryan does really well hitting the ball!

i am NOT a fan of her!

i am going to blame her orneryness on being with child.

i can't imagine that she would be so rude all of the time!

don't worry that her child got to hit every other time and the rest of the 20 kids only got two turns!!)

they had two t ball games going on, so there were six bases total.

we will have to practice running the bases. ryan doesn't understand that there is only three bases. he ran all over the gym i think he would run over about 4-5 bases every time he hit.

oh well, right?

he had fun!
